Letter to the editor signed "Ex. de St.-Hilaire", a sixty-year-old who no longer goes to shows, about a séance of the physicist Robertson in the cloister (of the Capucins) where he lives, attended by the ambassadors of Sweden and Holland. He describes the curiosities shown before the phantasmagoria: Needham's eels, live insects, anamorphic pictures, mirrors of all shapes, views, "invisibles speaking eight different languages", and citizen Fitz-James imitating a popular society and producing illusions of voice; then the phantasmagoria in the "catacombs", with the book of destinies, the harmonica, Discord throwing the apple and Chaos unravelled by Love. Full transcription and Italian translation.
