News item "Paris, le 11 ventôse" on the charlatans of Paris and the credulity of the curious: the crowd flocks to the invisible woman, "who gets drunk on brandy at the expense of the curious", to the "Arabs" (actually poor peasants from the Valais showing a goitre), and to the dwarf visible for 10 centimes on the boulevard Montmartre next to the café des Grands Hommes; a giant of 2 metres 193 millimetres and a talking carp are expected. Then comes the automaton playing chess and draughts in rue des Poulies, whose mechanic allegedly promised an automaton able to compose verses, novels and plays; Pinetti and Mesmer are finally expected. Full transcription and Italian translation.
