«Non credi forse che la conoscenza o, meglio ancora, l’intuizione delle meraviglie nella nostra vita sia data a taluni come un senso speciale?»
(Ernst T.A. Hoffmann)

THE PERIODIC TABLE. A CALL TO ACTION
Best known for his diary from a death camp in Auschwitz, Primo Levi broadened the horizons of his writings to Science. His autobiography “The Periodic Table” conveys to the layman “the strong and bitter flavor” of being a chemist, praising chemistry as a source of moral strength. Mariano Tomatis will try to reverse engineer the uncanny balance between the wonder and the tragedy evoked in Levi’s work, framing it as a call to action addressed to game designers, computer programmers… and stage magicians!
