Unsigned reply, written from the exhibitor's point of view (presumably Doctor Laurent), to the letter of the three subscribers of 12 pluviôse, which it attributes to the jealousy of «a director of a physics-cabinet show». It states that the white glass case is entirely insulated by four small chains, far from the walls and from anything that might suggest a communication; through the side opening one hears the invisible person breathing, who answers questions asked in the lowest voice, while bystanders feel her breath and warmth on their faces and hands. It announces daily opening from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and from the 15th of the month only private performances on request (from one to four), in the room in the cloître Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois, entrance from rue des Prêtres, allée du buraliste, second floor above the entresol. Full transcription and Italian translation.
